"Critical value" is a well known concept in clinical pathology laboratory. Frankly it defined as quantitative levels of analytes which are incompatible with life or severely threaten it, and accordingly needs immediate intervention. The most usual and daily examples in practice is very high or very low levels of serum potassium.

Some users who have successfully installed iPath on their systems have contributed some additional installation instructions. We will collect these instructions and make them available in the Installation Section of the user manual.

In order to improve our iPath telemedicine platform at University of Basel (http://telemed.ipath.ch) we would like to start a small survey among the users of this platform.
